The Velveteen Rabbit
The Lied Center
2 p.m.  This magical production, based on Margery Williams' 1992 book about the enduring power of love, will be performed by the Oberlin Dance Collective and will feature 10 children from Lawrence. Given as a Christmas gift to a young boy, the Velveteen Rabbit lives in the nursery with all of the other toys, waiting for the day when the boy will choose him as a playmate. Presented through dance, narration and song, the story is told from the perspective of the stuffed rabbit who, above all else, wants to be real.
