Why did I create the Kids Calendar?

When I graduated from KU, I had just gotten married and we both knew that Lawrence was the best place to live in Kansas.  But...  we had to move.  First to Mission, KS (in Johnson Co.) and then to Coffeyville, KS (straight south from Lawrence to the border of Oklahoma).  After having two kids we got the opportunity for my husband to take a job in Topeka.  This was the perfect opportunity for us to move back to Lawrence.  I was EXTREMELY excited, but there was one small problem.  The last time I lived in Lawrence (in college), I didn’t ever see a kid :-).  I started to have thoughts that maybe I would be one of the few moms living here with small kids.

To my great relief, I wasn’t the only mom.  In fact, there were quite a few of us and wonderful resources for our children.  I kept finding out about great events that I missed.  So, I started looking for something that would have everything written down and I couldn’t find anything.  I decided to give it a shot myself.  My first issue was back in March, 1999.  My kids are getting bigger, but my love for this town and everything it has to offer has just kept growing.

Let me know what you think.  I am always open to suggestions.  Thanks.
